Civil and Symbolic Ceremonies in Italy

There are many locations in our beautiful country where you can plan yourwedding ceremony or symbolic marriage, from the most famous city halls to the charming small town: stunning villas, medieval castles, historical palaces, folkloristic farmhouses and many other venues will satisfy every taste.

Legal civil wedding ceremony in Italy

The civil ceremony is officiated by an Italian authority and is legally recognized in your country

  • it is performed in Italian by a Mayor or civil registrar, with an official Interpreter and two witnesses (over 18 years old) are needed
  • it consists of a mix between the articles of the Italian civil code and traditional marriage vows
  • it lasts about 20 minutes
  • by law it must take place in buildings approved by the Italian government
  • it can be customized with elements that express your personality and values: music, readings, poetry and personal vows
  • outdoor civil ceremonies can be performed only in certain locations approved by the Italian authorities under special circumstances

Symbolic ceremony in Italy

The symbolic wedding ceremony is the right choice for those couples who prefer not to worry about filling documents for a civil or religious ceremony or are already legally married. This type of wedding is not legally binding the couple and they have the freedom to personalize the ceremony in such a way that it reflects completely their values and beliefs.
In addition, symbolic ceremonies can be performed in the most spectacular settings such as a medieval courtyard, a beautiful vineyard or a romantic garden.

The best months for getting married in Italy are April, May, June, September and October but the weather in Italy is mild also during winter months. July and August could be too hot.
